1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account and using MailGoatt ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. We will notify registered users of material changes by email.
2. Description of Service
MailGoatt is an automated email inbox management service. It connects to your email account using the Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) and, based on rules you configure, moves emails that meet your criteria to a destination folder of your choice. The Service runs on a daily schedule (approximately 3:00 AM UTC) and maintains a log of every email it moves, including the email's subject line, date, sender, and the destination folder.
MailGoatt does not read, store, analyze, or transmit the body content of your emails. Access is limited strictly to the metadata and folder operations required to perform the cleanup you configure.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. By registering, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and that all registration information you provide is accurate and complete.
4. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your MailGoatt account credentials. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at
[email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
You may not share your account with others, create accounts using automated means, or create accounts under false pretenses.
5. IMAP Access and Email Credentials
To use the Service, you must provide valid IMAP credentials for the email account you wish to clean. By providing these credentials, you:
• Represent that you are the owner of, or are duly authorized to connect, the email account in question.
• Grant MailGoatt permission to access that account via IMAP solely to perform the inbox cleanup operations you configure.
• Acknowledge that MailGoatt will store your IMAP password in encrypted form and will only use it to authenticate to your mail server on your behalf.
We use industry-standard encryption (AES-256) to store IMAP credentials at rest. Credentials are never logged in plaintext and are never shared with third parties.
You may revoke access at any time by deleting your IMAP configuration from the Settings page or by deleting your account entirely.
6. Cleanup Rules and Your Responsibility
MailGoatt moves emails based entirely on the rules you configure: the age threshold, the target folder, the unread-only option, and the list of "never-move" keywords. It is your responsibility to configure these rules accurately.
MailGoatt is not responsible for emails moved incorrectly due to misconfigured rules. We strongly recommend:
• Starting with a conservative age threshold (e.g. 90+ days).
• Using the "never-move" keyword list to protect important senders or subjects.
• Regularly reviewing your History log to verify the Service is operating as expected.
Every email moved by MailGoatt is logged in your account's History page with its subject, date, sender, and destination folder. This log is retained indefinitely so you can always find and restore a moved message.
7. Subscription and Billing
MailGoatt offers a 30-day free trial with no credit card required. After the trial period ends, continued use of the Service requires a Pro subscription.
Pro subscriptions are billed monthly at the then-current price (currently $5.00 USD per month). Billing is handled by Stripe. By providing payment information, you authorize MailGoatt and Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis.
Subscriptions automatically renew each month until cancelled. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain full access until then. We do not offer partial-month refunds.
If a payment fails, we will attempt to notify you by email. Access to the Service may be suspended if payment cannot be collected after reasonable retry attempts.
8. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use the Service to:
• Access any email account you do not own or are not authorized to access.
• Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or any related system.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
• Circumvent any rate limits, authentication, or security measures.
• Use the Service for any purpose that is illegal under applicable law.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these restrictions without prior notice.
9. Termination
You may close your account at any time from your account settings. Upon account deletion, your IMAP credentials are permanently deleted from our systems, your cleanup rules are removed, and your History log is erased within 30 days.
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately if you breach these Terms, if required to do so by law, or if continued operation of your account poses a risk to the Service or other users. In such cases, you will be notified by email where possible.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. Email delivery, IMAP connectivity, and the ability to move messages depend on factors outside our control, including your email provider's uptime and configuration.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, MailGoatt and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to loss of emails, data, or business opportunities, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total cumulative liability to you for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the total amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in accordance with applicable arbitration rules.
