We're a small, remote-first team with a focused mission. If you believe in building honest, privacy-respecting software, you'll fit right in.
Who We Are
MailGoatt is an independent, bootstrapped product. We don't have layers of management or sprawling roadmaps driven by investor timelines. We have a product that solves a real problem — automated IMAP inbox cleanup — and we care deeply about doing it right.
Everyone on the team is a generalist who can ship. We write the code, handle support, talk to users, and improve the product week over week. If you thrive with ownership and dislike bureaucracy, this environment is for you.
What We Value
You take a problem from start to finish. You don't wait to be told what the next step is — you figure it out and ship it.
Our users trust us with access to their email accounts. We take that seriously. Every decision should make the product more trustworthy, not less.
You reach for the least-privilege approach by default. You encrypt data you don't need to read. You delete data you don't need to keep.
We're async-first. That means written communication matters a lot. You can explain complex problems simply and know when to escalate vs. solve alone.
You understand the systems you work with — IMAP, PostgreSQL, HTTP, job queues. You're not afraid to read an RFC or trace a network connection.
Early-stage products change. Requirements shift. What worked last month might need rebuilding. You adapt quickly and don't get attached to prior decisions.
Open Roles
We're not actively hiring at the moment, but we're always interested in hearing from exceptional people. If you think you'd be a strong fit for the work we do, reach out anyway.

Work from wherever you're most effective. We have no office and no plans for one.
We don't fill calendars with meetings. Deep work is the job. Communicate clearly in writing and protect your focus time.
You own your work end-to-end. No handoffs to another team. Ship it, maintain it, improve it.
